Festas de Reveillon no Rio 2010

It's difficult to describe the spectacle. It begins with a massive fireworks display taking place across several kilometers of beach. Then there are 2.5 million joyous people being entertained. Then there is the silent, poignant retreat as people enter the water to toss their flowers on the waves with silent prayers for the past year and songs of hope for the year to come.
